More than Just a Suit

“What does a suit mean to you?”

That was the question asked at a meeting I recently attended at Dress for Success Atlanta, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to empower disadvantaged women by providing them with professional attire and career development tools to aid them in obtaining gainful employment and success within the modern workplace:

I thought back to the first professional suit I ever bought for myself. It was a navy blue Kasper brand dress suit with a knee-length skirt and button-down single-breasted blazer. It was my “interviewing suit.” When I looked at myself in the mirror with that suit on, the image was a reflection of confidence. Putting on that suit helped me to see myself as the professional person that I knew I was. It gave me confidence and helped instill a positive attitude about myself when interviewing.

It is imperative that a person seeking employment be equipped with the proper tools for securing a job. Having the necessary attire is an essential tool; one that many of us often take for granted when we are going on our very own job interviews. How would you feel if you didn’t have an “interviewing suit” or dress or the means to purchase one? Many disadvantaged women in Atlanta are in that exact situation – and need your help.

Peach City Style is happy to announce that we are currently accepting your dress and clothing donations to benefit Dress for Success Atlanta.  We are currently seeking your donations of:

*Coordinated, contemporary, interview-appropriate skirt and pant suits

*Blouses

*Blazers and jackets

***Please note that we are requesting that items be size 14 AND UP,
as these sizes represent our greatest need.

If you are interested in making a clothing donation, please contact Peach City Style at peachcitystyle@gmail.com, or leave a voicemail at 404-849-1185 so that we can arrange to have your items picked up. We will be accepting donations currently through Friday, December 17th.
